ABOUT US

We Proved Give believe donate People.

Prottasha is a non-government, non-political, non-religious, and non-profitable voluntary organization working for sustainable socio-economic development of disadvantaged communities in northwest Bangladesh. Since its inception on January 1, 1995, Prottasha has been serving poor and marginalized families in the Padma, Jamuna, and Ichamoti river basin areas as well as the Chalan Beel under Pabna, Sirajganj, and Natore districts.

Natural disasters like tornadoes, floods, river erosion, and droughts have made these areas vulnerable, and more than 80% of families depend on traditional agriculture. Due to seasonal unemployment, many families face poverty and are forced into seasonal migration. Prottasha works to reduce these vulnerabilities through education, livelihood training, women empowerment, and health services.

Our History

Prottasha was founded in 1995 by a group of socially committed doctors and volunteers who felt the urgent need for local development initiatives. Starting with only 10 volunteers, the organization began working with distressed women to raise awareness, build confidence, and establish fundamental rights. Over the years, Prottasha expanded its reach across Natore, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogra, Panchagarh, Kushtia, Sirajganj, and Barishal districts.
